From small batch distilleries to the global leader in bourbon making, Amanda Gunderson has had the opportunity to see whisk(e)y making in all shapes and sizes. Currently she is proud to represent the American Whiskey collection from Jim Beam including some of her favorite brands; Knob Creek, Basil Hayden’s, Booker’s, Baker’s and Legent.
This California native got her start behind the bar where she had the opportunity to work alongside James Beard Award winning chef Jose Andres at the Bazaar, and was part of the team at Rivera that was nominated for best restaurant bar in America alongside the highly acclaimed bartender Julian Cox. It was in these bars that she began developing her pallet and honed her love for whiskey. She left the bar in 2012 to start working directly with distillers to learn all she could about the craft of spirit making and help spread her infectious love for their brands.
When she’s not spreading the gospel of beautiful bourbons and ryes, she likes to spend time with her two pups while her Scotsman mans the grill, with a dram of fine whiskey in her hand.
